I took Daniel on the bus a few days ago and I had his stroller set up so that he could look out the door. The bus started to fill up and by the time I got off the bus, it had gotten quite full. The bus driver parked close to the curb and I was confident that I could just roll Daniel out by pushing the pram in front of me, and land the front wheels on the curb.
This did NOT happened! The front wheels basically nose-dived between the bus and the curb, and when I tried to lift the front wheels – they unhelpfully pushed against the curb, and when I tried to lift the pram back into the but, the front wheels, unhelpfully held on to the bottom of the bus. In the end a kind fellow passenger had to help me out of the pickle. Thankfully Daniel was strapped in and was quite amused by the incident, but I was shaken by my lapse in judgement.
A good reminder: always exit the bus backwards!
