In Spain we decided to rent a car seat, a baby monitor and a shade pop-up for Daniel. We used Sunshinebabies in Alicante. The proprietor, John, met us when we landed (we landed a bit early and John was a bit late so we used the time to feed and play with Daniel), and he met us again before we departed, to pick up the items before our flight left.
Renting baby gear at your destination is a great way to avoid travelling with bulkier items (we don’t have a baby monitor at our flat but wanted one in Spain to give us the freedom to roam around the Finca after Daniel was asleep). We also don’t have a car seat (we don’t have a car in London, and in case some of you are wondering: and we hired a taxi with a car seat to get Daniel home from the hospital).
Renting the car-seat from Sunshine Babies in Alicante was less than half the price of renting it from the car company (24 euros for the week versus 70+euros). The seat was clean and modern and it worked really well. Overall, we were really happy with our decision to rent equipment at the destination.
Have you had any experience with renting equipment from an agency? Would you recommend them to others?
